Smith
& Nephew Certification Exam
Working
in conjunction with one of our partner companies, integrated Pharma
Technologies Inc. (iPT), DMC developed this web-based certification program.

The
program advanced Smith & Nephew’s ability to stay in compliance
with
the Federal Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA).
Much
of the PDMA is related to methods of distribution of pharmaceutical samples.
Failure to comply with these laws can result in fines and /or jail time.
For that reason, Smith & Nephew, like other pharmaceutical companies,
needs to train and test their field representatives on their understanding
of what compliance means in the day-to-day handling and distribution of
drug samples.
iPT
provides the expertise in understanding the law, and in evaluating and
guiding the policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Delfino Marketing
Communications, Inc. (DMC) works in partnership with them in the development
and delivery of electronic training and testing materials. DMC develops
the actual examination that can assess representatives’ understanding
and compliance. This assessment program, which runs in a regular web-browser,
uses ASP programming technology to test sales reps and record the results
in a database for long-term accessibility. The program automatically sends
managers the results of each exam. DMC also develops training programs
that are used to provide representatives with the policies and procedures
they need to master in order to pass the required certification exam.
